Mongolian Academy of Culture and Poetry
The Mongolian Academy of Culture and Poetry is an organization, which carry out its activity for the development of the international cultural and literature relations, supporting the culture, literature and poetry for the human progress.
The Mongolian Academy of Culture and Poetry is located in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.
Scope of activities:- Studying, preserving and promoting world cultural, literary and poetic heritage
- Translating world literature into Mongolian and Mongolian literature into foreign languages
- Organizing international meetings, congresses and festivals of culture and literature
- Publishing GUNU, an English language magazine of culture and poetry
- Supporting events that combine literature and poetry with other art forms and philosophy
- Introducing works by Mongolian writers to the world
- Disseminating internationally known works of spiritual culture in
- Carrying out activities in cooperation with cultural, literary and humanitarian organizations in foreign countries
- Supporting humanitarian deeds and activities that work to preserve cultural heritage and protect the environmental through poetry and literature
- Presenting awards to persons who have made significant contributions to poetry, literature and culture in

Awards Presented by the Academy of Culture and Poetry
HEAVEN HORSE –Academy Award
A gold medal and certificate is presented every three years to a poet, writer or cultural figure for the meritorious service in the fields of culture, literature and poetry of the mankind.
- PEGASUS – Literature award
A medal, certificate and monetary award is presented every year to a Mongolian and a foreign writer and poet for the best work.
- GUNU Magazine Award
Monetary award is presented annually to the writer of the best work published in GUNU magazine.
- CULTURAL ORDER- High award
The award is presented to a writer, poet, sponsor, and manager who made a great contribution to the introduction of the Mongolian culture, literature and poetry in Mongolia and the world.
Cultural and Poetry Tour “Pearl Necklace”
The Academy organized the tours of the historical and cultural places in Mongolia and foreign countries and the tours of poets to the Tsetsee Gun, peak of the Bogd Khan Mountain for 4 years. The Academy organizes poetry readings and meetings of tour participants, and publishes a book or journal by their works. The length of the tour program is 7-15 days. The Academy’s World Poetry series publishes the best poems from around the world, translated into Mongolian. A number of volumes of Russian Poetry, Indian Poetry, Spanish Poetry, Japanese Poetry, French Poetry, and Central Asian Poetry have already published. Many volumes in the series will be published in future.
