Mongolian Academy of Culture and Poetry

The Mongolian Academy of Culture and Poetry is an organization, which carry out its activity for the development of the international cultural and literature relations, supporting the culture, literature and poetry for the human progress.

The Mongolian Academy of Culture and Poetry is located in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.

Scope of activities:

GUNU – International Literature, Culture and Poetry Magazine

Since its first issue in 2005, GUNU has been distributed in over fifty countries worldwide. It aims to introduce Mongolian culture, literature and poetry to the world. In addition to Mongolian literary works, it publishes foreign writers’ works, articles and essays on world literature, and letters from foreign writers and poets.

Awards Presented by the Academy of Culture and Poetry

HEAVEN HORSE –Academy Award

A gold medal and certificate is presented every three years to a poet, writer or cultural figure for the meritorious service in the fields of culture, literature and poetry of the mankind.

PEGASUS – Literature award

A medal, certificate and monetary award is presented every year to a Mongolian and a foreign writer and poet for the best work.

GUNU Magazine Award

Monetary award is presented annually to the writer of the best work published in GUNU magazine.

CULTURAL ORDER- High award

The award is presented to a writer, poet, sponsor, and manager who made a great contribution to the introduction of the Mongolian culture, literature and poetry in Mongolia and the world.

Cultural and Poetry Tour “Pearl Necklace”

The Academy organized the tours of the historical and cultural places in Mongolia and foreign countries and the tours of poets to the Tsetsee Gun, peak of the Bogd Khan Mountain for 4 years. The Academy organizes poetry readings and meetings of tour participants, and publishes a book or journal by their works. The length of the tour program is 7-15 days.
